I came back from vacation Monday morning at 6:45am and immediately went to work that day. I had a plan for a new TTRPG design post about characters and equipment but didn’t have the time or mental energy to complete it. So I had an idea to play a quick game using Cairn 2e with Odinson’s Wendwerweald zine but ran into difficulties there too…
Also, this week at work, I’ve been down staff and have a new student on my caseload who has been taking up a ton of time and energy. I’ve had to take a break from working on Niv Lova and just haven’t had time for much else.
So this week, I decided to do something easy. I’m going to showcase some Niv Lova Actual Plays!
This first one is by Kerova. Ivan is looking for a scavenger named “Ghost” who might know of a remnant nearby that Ivan wants. He finds an abandoned town and loots it, befriending a couple of feral dogs along the way. He fights a skinner, a bandit and finds an remnant that causes hallucinations. It’s a very cool start, with some great sketches. I especially like how the Skinner is drawn:
Kerova is also writing about a Kal Arath Actual-Play which is definitely worth checking out as well!
I’ve been following Whiskey, Blood and Dust closely because they’ve been creating a fascinating wild west TTRPG, among other awesome things. They just started sharing their actual play of Niv Lova with their first session above. I love the set up for the character “Knife” and am interested in following their journey in Niv Lova.
Lastly, I’ll just plug my own actual play:
A Short Stay in Niv Lova, pt 3
Olmak followed the soldiers until they camped for the night. He kept them in view while trying to stay out of sight. He didn’t have a fire and slept on a bedroll on the ground after having a can of cold, congealed soup. (-1 food, 5 left)
