I didn't think such a sparse writing style could be so engrossing. That was such a fun little read, thanks for sharing!

Righteous story! Very good stuff. Exactly the sort of vibe I had in mind. Can wait to read the rest!

And thank you for the kind words about the game and research. Meant to put that in the original comment.

Also, gotta give credit, was partially inspired by your Knife character and play through of Niv Lova. The short, quick, sentences, his thoughts right out there. I was also clearly inspired by Cormac McCarthy, but alas, my attempts at description are not nearly as masterful. Might be time to reread blood meridian or the crossing trilogy...

Killer. I enjoy writing Knife's story in Niv Lova.

I love this minimalist style. It hits hard and is very impressionistic. It's interesting how playing with words and structure can radically change how something feels. This style is brutal, like short punches in the gut. I dig it.

To me all the run-on sentences in Blood Meridian create a sense of breathless galloping in some sections, punctuated by short, sharp intermissions. McCarthy is a genius with that. I may reread that one too.

I've just been experimenting with different styles and tones of writing for each game I do. First, second, third person. Detached and stream of consciousness. I've written things my whole life for one job or another (academia, copywriting, trade journals, popular mags, etc), but I'd never done much fiction.

Damn it's fun.

I have to find some balance between visual arts and writing, though. I tend to get obsessed with one or the other.
