It’s the end of the school year and I will be on vacation for a couple weeks so I’m taking a break until July.
In the mean time, you can delve into some my previous writing.
Sanguine Dust, Season 1
Sanguine Dust, Season 1 is a solo-gaming campaign of 19 sessions/chapters set in a sci-fi universe, using the Starforged setting and system by Shawn Tomkin.
This is where it all began. I wrote up the first solo campaign I’d played, using Starforged by Shawn Tomkins. It’s a space-faring, planet-exploring epic.
Amon, the Thousand-Year-Old Vampire
Amon the Thousand-Year-Old Vampire is a 10-chapter play-through of the solo journaling game, Thousand-Year-Old Vampire written by Tim Hutchings.
Next, I took on a solo-journaling game, one that takes place over a thousand years as you control a vampire trying desperately to keep their memories intact as ages pass, friends and family perish and the world keeps on turning. It begins with Amon, an ancient Egyptian priest.
Shadow of The Waxwing Slain, Book One
Shadow of the Waxwing Slain, Book One is a 21-chapter Solo Actual Play of Blade Runner The Role Playing Game.
This is probably my favorite campaign. I really delved into the two main characters, a grumpy old detective paired with a fresh new replicant, attempting to solve crimes involving other replicants. It was tricky to play characters solving mysteries as a solo player. I also had to create my own solo tools and tables. I think it contains some of my best writing and I plan to continue it once the new Replicant supplement book comes out.
You can check out the Table of Contents for more, including a world I created through multiple games called Kol Noth (I played Foundations, Microscope, The Quiet Year, The Deep Forest and Ex Novo), one-off solo short games (Long Haul 1983, The Last Tea Shop, Exclusion Zone Botanist, Wenderweald, etc.) as well as a campaign I started (“Waves Breaking”) using Shawn Tomkins pirate-setting rules called Sundered Isles. There are also more Actual Plays of my game, Niv Lova, a few articles on game design and a few articles about solo-gaming in general.
If interested in supporting me, please buy Niv Lova, the game I made or join as a paying subscriber.
Thanks for reading!
Enjoy the break! Well deserved!
I love Blade Runner’s vibes, although I’ve only watched each movie once. I’d love to see some of the ways you tackled the investigative portion, so I’ll be giving that a read! Have a well deserved break! I’ve just finished reading through Niv Lova so I’ll be looking forward to diving in soon
