You are exposed and flee to a neighboring region. Lose any stationary Resources. Check a skill. A mortal flees with you. What new name do you adopt among these strangers?
90 AD, Italy
They came for me. Not a small band of villagers this time, but a hundred armed soldiers. It seemed my reputation had grown and they’d come to kill the ‘monster’ who lived in the Qattara Depression. I gathered my belongings and fled, taking Hanan with me. She did not resist. She seemed resigned to be my companion. We fled back to Alexandria, to the docks where I commanded a captain to allow us to cross the Mediterranean with him, to Italy. He could not resist my command. Once there, I took the name Cassius.
I take the name Cassius, I mark the skill Humans are tools and I lose the resources a modest house and ruins. I lose the memories of my brother, Jabari.

95 AD, Italy
We stayed in a small village for a time, trying to stay away from large cities and the notice of others. Unfortunately, this village was also home to another immortal creature, a strix by the name Drusa. We encountered each other one night and she did not like that I was in her territory. We fought but she was stronger than I. She took my spear and I fled into the night, escaping her clutches, even when she transformed into a bird to hunt for me. I needed to be careful and stay hidden.
I create a new Immortal named Drusa. I lose a resource, Spear, and gain a skill, Hiding.
Roll 1d10 - 1d6 = 10 - 4 = +6 →Prompt #14
Drusa turned Hanan against me. They shared whispers whilst I slept. One night, Drusa gave the spear to Hanan to use against me. She went to strike me down but I awoke. She had tears in her eyes and I felt shame within. Shame for a nameless lover I didn’t remember. Shame for the things I’d done to Hanan and the things I’d forced her to do. She stabbed me with the spear and I cried out. I asked her to do it again, to kill me, to put an end to my wretched existence. She could not continue and I could hold back my survival instincts no longer. I told her I was sorry and fled, wounded.
I check the skill Ashamed.
Roll 1d10 - 1d6 = 3 - 6 = -3 → Prompt #11
How do you find solace from the raging hunger within you? You may lose one checked or unchecked skill.
I headed to Rome, feeling that I could lose myself in a great city with the hustle and bustle of the masses of people. It reminded me of Alexandria, and yet, it was very different. I found solace from watching the people. So many people, doing so many things, all so interesting. These were not mere cattle to be bled dry for my nourishment. They were fascinating. I watched as Domitian, the current emperor, executed a group of senators, fearing they were plotting against him. I went to the Colosseum and watched a Roman Consul named Manius Acilius Glabrio fight a lion at Domitian’s orders. Manius killed the lion without a scratch! And yet, Domitian exiled him all the same! What fascinating stories these humans lives tell. Even though I remember I was once a priest, I wonder what humans I knew and loved in life. Did I have family? Friends? Did I know love, at one time? Watching and following these human lives helped tame my raging hunger and though I fed, I did not kill during this time.
I lose the skill Humans are cattle.

295 AD, Rome
Three hundred years. A man named Mido found me in my third year living in Rome. He claimed to be my servant from years past. He’d followed rumors and whispers of a creature in the night to find me. He pledged his life and his family into my service. I accepted. Years passed and they served faithfully. Him, his wife and his children. I gave him the small gold statue of Osiris as a gift, with which he was buried with when he died. After him and his wife passed, his children continued to serve me, and his children’s children, and so on, for generations. Emperors died and were replaced, wars were fought and a plague decimated the population. In this time, from the shadows, I slowly accumulated wealth and influence, becoming a potent political figure during Diocletian’s reign as emperor, who had just established the Tetrarchy. One night, as I slept, I realized I could not remember how I came to be the creature I was. The memory was gone, like so many others.
I gain the resource Servitors of the Lineage. I lose the resource, Small gold statue of Osiris. I lose the memory of how I became a vampire. All mortals I knew are dead, once again.
Amon has become Cassius and the story has moved to Rome! As an example of the things you learn, I wanted the conflict with another Immortal to be more interesting than just another vampire, so I tried to find some beings from ancient Greece or Rome and stumbled upon the Strix, which was great. Cassius went through alot during this time, fighting the strix, losing his companion, finding peace for a time, before gaining a following and accumulating wealth and prestige. But he also lost the memories of his brother and how he became the creature he is now. What more will he gain? What more will he lose?
